All for $6 bucks! |
This week was certainly the week of the Bertolli pasta sauce
and mayo steals. Funny thing is we only use mayo on rare occasion or when we
have friends and family over to eat. Since I’ve devoted myself to bumping up
nutrition in our meals, I use hummus instead of mayo on my sandwiches and it is
SO good. Fortunately for me Sabra hummus was also on sale this week too!
I did two Publix shopping trips because the Bertolli deal
was too good to pass up and I wanted to use all the coupons I had for it. I
try to be careful not to clear shelves or take too much of one product away
from a store. No special reason, just my
personal preference. I wasn't paying very much attention to which Bertolli sauces I grabbed on my first run, and just so you know, the organic sauce isn't buy one, get one. Yes, it clearly states that on the sale tags, but it was late and I'm full of excuses and now I need to return them since I paid more than I was expecting. I like it when I don't screw up so I don't have to do so much of the math and can just use my receipts to do the talking. However, thanks to my organic pasta sauce I "paid" the price and had to do some work on this breakdown for you. But it certainly is my pleasure! So many great deals!
I am most likely going to do ANOTHER shopping trip Sunday,
because I heard there will be a Publix $2 off a frozen food item in this Sunday’s
paper (so keep a look out!). Kellogg’s French toast sticks are on sale buy one, get one this week and
they are this busy mom’s saving grace. I will be doing this next shopping kid-free, because I really do wish someone had taken a photo of me and the kids this time. We were a sight. After one chocolate chip cookie from the bakery, my son was popping up from the kids cart and practically squishing his 9 month old sister beside him. I do realize they have seat belts they need to wear while in the cart, however, I was trying very hard to avoid a tantrum today. I just KNEW one was coming my way. Thanks to the help of a few very kind Publix managers entertaining my son, we got through the check out line without a meltdown.

I also wanted to mention if your Publix takes Save-A-Lot as
a competitor there is a $5 off when you spend $25 printable coupon on their
Facebook page. You can print a few of these babies and use them until they
expire. I like to do two separate transactions if I know my grocery bill will
equal over $50 before coupons. Saving an extra 10 bucks off the top like that
really puts a spring in my step. Or better yet, for all you mommas out there, this
would be a good time to grab a box of diapers from Publix (some are around $26)
and use your manufacturer coupon for the brand of diapers you like AND any
store coupons you may have AND the $5 off $25 for some BIG savings!
Okay, without any further rambling, here’s the breakdown
