Okay, I have a confession. I'm planning to ditch my plans to shop this week for my weekly shopping trip. We just have SO much food left, I don't think I can handle shopping for more (or shopping anymore PERIOD). I already stopped at our local farmer's market for my fresh produce and think I will just quit while I'm ahead. However, I will definitely be snagging the Hefty garbage bag deal this week. It's too good to pass up. Here's the deal:
(1) Hefty Trash Bags, $5.50 sale price - used (1) $1.50/1 Target printable and $1/1 Hefty manufacturer printable = $3.00
I plan on getting at least two…running out of trash bags is like running out of tp. Never a good situation. And we definitely ran out this week (of all days, THANKSGIVING!) so I don't want to make that mistake again.
I have also been really impressed with the Ibotta app. If you haven't checked it out lately, they've added a few new features. I like the movie theater offers and the home improvement offers the best. I just redeemed my first offer today from the Home Depot section for the Christmas lights. If you are getting a fake tree, they currently have a $5 cash back offer as well. Not bad. We always get one of the fresh cut ones (of course, I'm from Maine…can't have a fake tree in our house after growing up cutting down our own!), but I noticed the offer while I was checking things off my list.
If you haven't had a chance to scope out what will be in tomorrow's paper for coupons, you can check out the Sunday Coupon Preview to get a sneak peak.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

A Fun, Family Christmas in Florida: Snow or No Snow
We have moved to a new home! Come visit us at Capturing Inspirations at capturinginspirations.com!
So, I'm pretty excited. December is upon us and so begins the countdown to Christmas. I'm sure I'm not the only one who glanced at the calendar and felt like we were sent on a sling shot out of November and into Christmas time. We can thank a later Thanksgiving for that sudden realization. I hate it when I try to plan ahead on fun family projects and then find myself scrambling to get things together last minute. Where did November go?
My goal is to make it feeeeeel like Christmas around these parts. Florida certainly isn't the most picturesque place that comes to mind when you think of Christmas. I typically recall Home Alone 2 when Kevin is lost in New York and his family is in Florida. Remember that part? It's pouring rain and his family is having a lousy time in their hotel. Meanwhile, Kevin has hunted down the most beautiful Christmas tree and it's snowing ever so perfectly.
Well, I must admit, I still wish for snow every year. But I'm not going to let the weather dictate my happy Christmas. Or especially with my kiddos. Christmas is going to be perfect because we are together and making new traditions and memories.
Christmas is definitely way more fun with kids. They get you into the magic of it all again.
The kids and I typically watch PBS cartoons in the morning during breakfast and, lately, have been seeing "commercials" for the Cat in the Hat Christmas episode since Halloween. Well, I'm not sure who was more excited that it was on the day before Thanksgiving, me…or the kids. I just remember getting the kids into the show by pointing out the animated Christmas tree and talking about the snow and decorations. I may have jumped up and down. I don't think it had so much to do with the Cat and the Hat as it did with Christmas arriving again. This year is going to be awesome. Snow or no snow.

11/21 Publix Shopping Trip: $97 Worth in Groceries for $8!! With Shopper Link Ups!
We have moved to a new home! Come visit us at Capturing Inspirations at capturinginspirations.com!
Welcome (and welcome back!) to my weekly Publix shopping trip blog post! This post is where I put together some of the best weekly sales and match them with the best coupons and keep my OOP under $10 when possible. I have linked up the printable coupons in my list so you can recreate the same deals for you and your family!
Well it's starting to feel more like Thanksgiving is in our future with the new ad this week at Publix. I must admit, I was pretty excited about this week. So many BOGOs and a great week to use the Target $10/$50 coupon that came in the Target ad from this past Sunday's paper. Lots of savings this week - and lets face it- I'd rather spend less at the grocery store and save more for the upcoming expensive month of December.
I've got a little boy who's love for Thomas the Train has now turned obsessive and has a few wooden trains on his list for santa. I don't know if you've ever seen the price on those trains but they are NOT cheap! We were blessed to get the wooden train set by another fire fighter who worked with my husband. His boys had recently outgrew Thomas right before Christmas last year. We were able to set up the entire train set in the playroom the night before Christmas (took HOURS with both my husband and I working on it, and a few adult beverages) and when he woke up Christmas morning, Santa had brought him exactly what he asked for. His excitement - I will remember forever. So, needless to say, Santa can't let this little boy down this year. Cutting grocery costs are a good place to start to allocate those dollars to gifts instead of, say, shredded cheese!
Some of you have asked me how I manage these shopping trips with two littles. I wrote a fun post on Tricks for Smooth Shopping with Toddlers for your reading pleasure. I hope you enjoy it!
What deals are you excited about this week? If you're reading this to plan your trip, come back and share how you did! You can link up your shopping trip below or leave it in a comment!

Tricks for a Smooth Grocery Shopping Trip With Toddlers
We have moved to a new home! Come visit us at Capturing Inspirations at capturinginspirations.com!
Sometimes we just don't have a choice. For many of us, that's most of the time. We have to take our little precious ones with us to the grocery store. Some days will be better than others, and lets face it, sometimes you need to know when to throw in the towel and just go back at night when the kids are in bed and daddy can be home to watch them while you shop. If you're new at this, or just want a few extra tricks up your sleeve to keep the kids happy, then this post is for you.
My little helpers |
First things first. It's always best that your kids are rested, have been to the potty (or changed), and aren't starving. You check those three things off your list and you are already off to a great start. Their really is nothing more difficult than an exhausted, hungry child. Seriously, NOTHING will make them happy. So give yourself (and those kiddos), the best chance possible. These tips are in no particular order. So enjoy them, have a laugh, and remember that if your child freaks out, we've all been there!

Creamy Dreamy Green Smoothie
I love my green drinks. I have never been one to stuff my face with a bunch of veggies throughout the day, so this is my way to keep up with all my body's essential nutritional needs. Green smoothies are definitely filling and delicious. I also like to use a juicer from time to time, but most days I will use my Vitamix and throw all my greens in the blender. When you blend instead of juice, you are keeping all of the fiber in the drink, which we know is good for your body. Green smoothies are a favorite for my toddlers as well. Their is something so satisfying seeing my kiddos drink one of these and asking for more, knowing what's in them.
Here's an easy go-to green smoothie recipe (I have many, this is the first I'm posting). This would be a great one to freeze in pop cycle molds as well, for your really picky eaters.

Publix Weekly Shopping Trip 11/14: $83 Worth in Groceries for $15!
Welcome (and welcome back!) to my weekly Publix shopping trip blog post! This post is where I put together some of the best weekly sales and match them with the best coupons and keep my OOP under $10 when possible. I have linked up the printable coupons in my list so you can recreate the same deals for you and your family!
I was hoping to start stocking up on some Thanksgiving goodies, but this week I just grabbed a few of the best deals that we could use. I'm crossing my fingers for next week, since I'm sure we will all be in luck with finding sales for what we need to bring for our Thanksgiving gatherings. I also started combing through my pantry and pulling cans, jars, and boxed items that I will be donating for the holidays. In the past it had been a stretch to be able to put together a few extras for donations, but this year with a little more intense couponing and some planning ahead, I have put together a nice little donation that I am proud of.
I'm definitely getting more into the holiday spirit with Turkey Day and Christmas fast approaching. I'm planning my gift lists and stocking stuffers and will be coming out with a fun stocking stuffer resource list of items that won't break the bank, but are still tons of fun. So check back soon for that posting. If you haven't already seen my article about "Having a Merry Christmas (and Not Going Broke)" - definitely check it out. It's a great reminder on how to enjoy the holidays without going overboard…which we all know is WAY too easy to do.
So how did you do this week? What great deals did you find? I'd love for you to share your favorite deals, so please let us know in a comment below or link up your weekly savings. I love our community of savvy shoppers and we definitely all help each other out. I appreciate those who drop me a line and give me a heads up about the great deals that they find. It helps everyone when we stick together. Joining our Facebook page community is even another way to stay connected.
Okay..without any further meaningful ramblings...

Print Them! Tuesdays: What's On My List
I have purged quite a few expired coupons this week, so I can make room for the new ones. I had a lot of 10/31 and 11/9 expirations, so now I have a whole mess of valid ones. We have so many fantastic coupons available right now, that it will hopefully make our heavy grocery bills during the Thanksgiving holiday MUCH lighter. I also plan to pick up a few extra items to add to my donation pile.
Here are the ones I am making sure not to miss out on while they are still in print:
(Plus it gives you a little sneak peak into some of the deals I'm planning to pick up)

Freebie Fridays: What is FREE with Coupons Currently
Here are the latest freebies you can find using coupons! A few of them are money makers that you can use to shave off your overall costs. Remember to check back throughout the week! I keep updating this list until the next Friday Freebies rolls out!
New here? 'Like' our page on Facebook! Thanks for your support!
If you find one that I missed, comment below and I will update the list according. Happy Friday!
Keep in mind these freebies do not involve "doubled" coupons and also reflect a true buy one, get one sale (when included). Check your local area prices to be sure you can match these deals, as some may be regional. Also check expirations dates on coupons, since many freebie deals have a short window before they expire.

Publix Weekly Shopping Trip 11/7: $58 Worth in Groceries for $9.55! With Shopper Link Ups
Welcome (and welcome back!) to my weekly Publix shopping trip blog post! This post is where I put together some of the best weekly sales and match them with the best coupons and keep my OOP under $10 when possible. I have linked up the printable coupons in my list so you can recreate the same deals for you and your family!
Today's trip went very smoothly. My two little ones were busy eating crackers as I whirled around as quickly as I could through the lanes to get my goodies. Oh boy! And today WAS about getting goodies. Between the brownies and chocolate chips, I think we are set for chocolate treats for the holidays. So much for healthier couponing with today's trip! I also goofed and bought the half gallon of organic milk from Horizon that was on sale for $3.50, instead of buying a gallon of Greenwise organic milk to receive the ibotta offer. This offer is only for on gallon of milk (any brand), so obviously by half gallon didn't make the cut. I will run out later without the kiddos to pick up the gallon. Anytime I can save a little on milk I am all about it!
If you are curious what coupons are coming up in this Sunday's paper for 11/10 check out the Sunday Coupon Preview!

Tips for Having A Merry Christmas (And Not Going Broke) Part II
If you missed Part I on Tips for Having a Merry Christmas (And Not Going Broke) see my previous post giving you 5 great tips to get you started off this holiday season in the frugal zone.
Frugality doesn't have to mean "cheap" and it doesn't have to mean "not fun." All it means is you are savvy with your money and time. You are creative. Organized. That you are thoughtful about where you put your resources. The fact that you are reading this and taking the time to figure how to make this work for you and your family should be enough to give yourself a pat on the back.
